Fast and non-invasive, ultrasound scanning can provide valuable support to a veterinary surgeon in the diagnosis of many common diseases, the locating of a foreign body, or in the identification of a mass. SonoPet-Mobile’s Dr Yasmin Jiwa provides a range of ultrasound services in your clinic, thereby reducing the stress on animals and allowing vets to stay in control of the process from admission to discharge.
Dr Yasmin’s career as a veterinary surgeon, working in Hong Kong, the UK and Germany, stretches back to 1995. Since 2009, she has focused on ultrasonography, launching SonoPet-Mobile in 2019. Her wide range of experience means she is well aware of the type of analysis and practical advice busy vets in Hong Kong need.

About Dr Yasmin Jiwa
Dr Yasmin qualified with a DVM from the Freie Universitaet Berlin in 1995. After two years working in a small animal shelter in her native Germany, she left for London to work in a 24-hour emergency clinic. In the UK, her keen interest in ultrasonography blossomed, and she completed several ultrasound workshops and courses with the RCVS, and trained alongside diagnostic imaging specialists.
She moved to Hong Kong in 2004, initially working for the SPCA before joining a 24-hour emergency clinic in 2006 as a senior veterinary surgeon. Dr Yasmin went on to take on sole responsibility for ultrasonography for the clinic, dividing her time between the clinic and a mobile ultrasound practice. In 2019 she founded her own business to pursue her passion for diagnostic imaging and sonography full time. In 2024 she completed her Certificate in Cardiology (GPCert Cardio)
A member of the International Veterinary Ultrasound Society (IVUSS), the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) and the European Society of Veterinary Cardiology (ESVC), Dr Yasmin is currently in the process of completing her Diagnostic Imaging Certificate with the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS).
She is also a qualified Chinese acupuncturist and member of the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS).

While SonoPet-Mobile is operated by a registered and highly experienced veterinary surgeon we ask that your staff be responsible for obtaining all written consents, and performing all sedation, anaesthesia and monitoring of patients in your care during the ultrasound. Consent forms can be obtained at the time of the initial ultrasound.
